PHP Coding Standards Are Severely Flawed


The PHP coding standards are severely flawed in the exact same way that the Ansi C coding standard is flawed. The coding standards don't have any reasonable explanations for their chosen style. They seem to be standards that are formed based on personal opinion rather than research.

Another problem with the PHP coding standard is they recommend obsolete style, and do not consider that maybe styles have improved or that someone has researched new and better styles that replace old obsolete K&R style.
