A person who practices Insight Activism.
An insight activist is one who focuses on obtaining an overall grasp about knowledge and insight, instead of (short term) selfish Partial Intelligence for his own satisfactory gain. An insight activist may even go as far as placing insight, knowledge, and intelligence higher up in importance than even his own life or salary.
The general term "insight activism" and "insight activist" described here are per Lars Olson's original thought and definition. Insight activism is intended for the public domain, and should not be linked to Lars Olson, even if he first published texts on the subject. In order to be an Insight Activist, you have a need (not a want) to study, speak up, and practice efficient intelligence in place of inefficient or Partial Intelligence.
An Insight Activist should carry these qualities
-aims for more complete intelligence in place of partial intelligence.
-truly wants to see and participate in the big picture, not the selfish, short term,
small picture.
-believes most of the current world is practicing partial intelligence instead of
aiming for more complete intelligence.
-feels many current world practices are endless circular references instead of
intelligent practices.
-feels infinite loops are not intelligent methods of solving problems. (An example
is a typical business selling to another business, selling to another business..
selling to....).
-feels he/she strongly wants to speak up about intelligence and insight even if it
is not immediately effective.
-feels intelligence is not a simple and single measure. Feels intelligence spouts
off into several sub-intelligences. Example: a serial killer may be intelligent
enough to get away with murder, but he is not intelligent in an overall sense.
He only has partial intelligence on a very focused subject (getting away with a
certain activity). Likewise, profiting from a business which hypes products (almost
all businesses) is a sign of partial intelligence, not overall intelligence. An
insight activist will not deny the latter examples.
-feels IQ is in no way a measure of overall intelligence. Feels IQ is an extremely
limited measure of intelligence (i.e. a successful cigarette company businessman
may rank high on the IQ scale but only has very partial and incomplete
intelligence according to an Insight Activist)
-prefers real world examples over theory or academics. Cite's real world examples
often when having trouble getting a point across to another human.
-has trouble understanding any sort of "economics". Prefers knowledge capitals in
place of virtual capitals. Such an example can be seen in public domain software
or public standards (and some open source software), where only knowledge drives
progress.
-accepts error as a part of human nature, and does not believe in perfection.
Feels intelligence can stem from trial and error, so in order to gain intelligence
there must be some room for error. i.e. "overall intelligence" may sound ideal
or near perfection, but in fact it is an aim, not a "truth" or "religion".
