Buzzphrase

A buzzphrase is the same as a buzzword, except it is a phrase instead of a word.

Most of the time, buzzwords are combined together to form Buzzphrases. Since buzzwords are so vague and non-descriptive, the guilty party usually combines several buzzwords together in order to try and make the buzzword clearer. This has an opposite effect though, and the buzzphrase actually becomes less clear than just a single buzzword alone.

Several buzzwords together in a phrase, causes more confusion than one buzzword.

Some examples of buzzwords and buzzphrases can be seen at the C2 wiki:

People who have a strong sense of smell for buzzword language usually have what we call "strong bullshit detectors" or "overly sensitive bullshit detectors". It is a good thing to have strong bullshit detectors, except for the fact that you might not live as easy of a life. You will be walking around with your bullshit detectors flaring and going off every where you go.

Sometimes it is best to keep quiet if your detectors and alarms go off at raring levels. This is called "controlling your bullshit detectors to an acceptable level". Don't let anybody see or hear your built in bullshit detector system when it is at these high levels, as it can cause an evacuation of the entire building.

Buzzphrases are also known as "goobleydegook" or alternate spellings such as "gobblydegook".
Buzzphrases are also known as "managerspeak". Here we have an example:

"I looked at Eclipse recently when searching for a Java IDE and was spooked off by all the managerspeak:

'Eclipse provides extensible tools and frameworks that span the software development lifecycle, including support for modeling, language development environments..., testing and performance, business intelligence, rich client applications and embedded development. A large, vibrant ecosystem of major technology vendors, innovative start-ups, universities and research institutions and individuals extend, complement and support the Eclipse Platform.'

I would have killed for a screenshot. Further pages did not help. I mean, ecosystems are great and all but really, is this going to work for me?" --Ogre Lawless
