Introduction
- This page is intended to give case studies or real world examples of where Powtils has been used.
In other words, it is a page where we brag about interesting projects that have been undertaken using Powtils.
This page was created only very recently in 2007. With time, more examples and case studies will be added.
Real world facts about Powtils
- Powtils is used to manage, read, and write to databases with over 5 million rows
- Powtils is used to index the entire Windows API procedures and structures on the internet
- Many powtils sites have over 10,000 pages indexed by google. For example, even the relatively infamous Z505.COM site at times has over 96,000 indexed pages monthly, all powered by Powtils.
- Powtils is used for zipping and shipping files to customers containing ridiculous amounts of data.
Imagine a situation where you need to ship customers data each week.
Are you going to ask your customer to log into SSH/Telnet/FTP and get the files? What customer has time for hassles? Powtils is used to send customers a regular URL where a zip file with fresh data is generated automatically. The program grabs data from the SQL database and puts it into a CSV/ZIP file.

- a Powtils powered PasWiki was built with a hand written parser. It now contains over 950 pages, written by one person, and has never been hacked into. It has been running for over 3 years.

- a web browser based shell/telnet emulator was built with powtils for servers that do not offer SSH/TELNET access
- an http based FPC compiler was built with Powtils
- content management systems; custom, inhouse, and even simplified ones are built with powtils
- web remote control software was built with Powtils
- Powtils is used to generate stock market data
- Powtils is used to generate real estate data and real estate display sites
- This documentation engine (LUFDOC) is built with Powtils
- FPCBOT/pastebin which displays IRC chat history and pastes uses powtils
- Of course, even simple home pages and smaller sites are built with Powtils.
