~ quantum emulator movie
A man writes a computer program in a quantum programming language that is theoretical and cannot be used in practice, other than via an emulator and not on a real quantum computer since no quantum computer exists yet.

There is a website that has an emulator available for him to test his progam which he is grateful for. However his program is becoming quite sophisticated and takes advantage of quantum computing in a way that an emulator would make the program way too slow and would take years to process on a classic computer. However he writes the program anyway, knowing that some day a real quantum computer will be available to run this program, even if in 35 years from now.

As the program is very sophisticated he finds no reason to run the program, as it will not complete or come close to running, on an emulator. He does run sections of the program though, small segments of it, which can complete on an emulator in good time since they are just small quantum computations.

However one day, he decides to put the entire program into the emulator, just for kicks and giggles - he knows as soon as he starts running it, it will simply hang - as no emulator could run a program this quantum sophisticated. To his astonishing surprise, the program runs, as normal - and brings back astounding results, that he expected would occur on a real quantum computer. He is now extremely skeptical that this is no emulator, as advertised on the website - this is in fact a real quantum computer - no emulator could ever run his program this quickly and bring back these results in such immediate time.

He researches the website and finds little information about it, other than it is an emulator site. There is something very strange going on... but after all, the quantum world is in fact very very strange.
