If you think everywhere you go, that you should have the right to defend yourself with a deadly weapon (gun, knife) and that society is so bad that you need this right, you are basically admitting the country you live in is hell - it is so full of criminals and nasty people, that you are in a sort of hell. All people in hell are nasty criminals, so in hell you would also want the same right, would you not?
Do not get me wrong: this is not an anti-gun article. I actually agree with you, if you think you are walking around and need that right - I agree with you that you are in hell, and need to defend yourself from the criminals in hell (earthly humans).
The question is, why do these gun owners think they are in a heavenly earth that God put us on to enjoy, when they literally have to stock their homes and their pockets with deadly weapons? Are you telling me God put us in a hellful place that you now mistake as a heavenly place created "in his image"? Just think about this carefully for a moment: God creates this wonderful place, in his image, that, is so wonderful that you have to walk around with concealed hand guns and knives to defend yourself. Catch the paradox there?
I stress again: this is not an anti gun article or an anti weapon article: the world is indeed cruel and criminal enough that people walking around with concealed hand guns in USA is likely not irrational: after all there could be a rapist around the corner, a theft, a burglar, a murderer, a gang that does not like your race of people, whatever. But I question why some of these people think, that some how, this is the place God wanted people to live in? After all we do know a lot of gun owners are right wing christians.
What in God's name do you think Jesus put you in a place of criminals and bad people, that you have to constantly defend yourself against and constantly paranoid about? There is nothing Godly or Christian about that.
I think you mistook Earth for something it isn't. If it is that bad that almost every USA citizen has to own a gun, you are basically admitting you live in hell and have to defend yourself against all these horrible citizens of hell that are out to get you: which, they are. This is not an anti gun article. I actually agree with you - but where in fuck's name did you think this was all done in God's image? You live in hell, and you think God put you here to constantly defend yourself against the citizen's of hell... Wow, great place. Great place.
Either the USA is hell, or the earth is hell. I think that it is the latter, and that all the other citizens of Earth outside of the USA just haven't figured it out yet. And once more question is, "is a gun even enough to defend yourself" when in fact some organizations have technology far more powerful than a gun, to fuck with you.
You are living on the type of planet where the people who vote for parties that wish for no guns, are the types that secretly own a gun themselves and rape people with it, or commit criminal acts with it... At one time I thought this was all conspiracy and gun owners were out of their minds - in fact I thought Canada and Britain were more sensible for simply not having any interest in guns - which, would be a sensible position if your country was not filled with criminals and you did not need to defend yourself from them (which everyone claims Canada and Britain are). Which of course I found out to be a load of shit.
If you have to carry a weapon every time you go out, or mount one to your dash (Las Vegas style), are you sure this is treating the cause of the problem and not the symptom? I mean, I agree, you should likely mount a gun to your dash, with the risk of someone getting to the gun before you get to it (maybe some obscure lock cabinet system must be used that only you know the combination to) but isn't this just pathetic that you are living in such a universe where you have to use deadly weapons to threaten/fend off other criminals constantly? Why would you want to live on a planet that is this rotten where you have to threaten off others with deadly weapons? Because Jesus! Jesus put us here to live in beautiful Earth! Because Jesus!
