~ okcupid movie
A man and a woman message each other on a dating site called OkCupid, and have extremely in depth conversations together and everything goes well. They have been messaging some other matches on multiple dating sites and have found everyone to send terse short mostly meaningless messages without much deep thought. These two send each other medium or long messages, and finally have found someone they can write to and enjoy. He messaged her first, with a shorter message to start off a longer conversation. They send each other many messages for a while and they really like each other. Until one day a message is misinterpreted and they never talk to each other again, it seems. They never meet after these conversations, even though they really hit it off well together and thought they would be a great math, up until the point where a message sent, when everything went wrong. They both quit the dating site they were on, at different times, after this occurred.

A decade later, the man signs up for the same dating site, and finds lots of matches. He doesn't message any of them yet, as he is thinking it over. Then after a few days, he goes on the site, looking for more matches, and strangely, he finds the same user name he contacted a decade ago which was going well, and then not well at all when it all went up in flames...

He decides to message her, and he knows it is her, since her picture looks like it is her, and it is her exact user name used a decade ago. When he messages her, he sends the exact same message, word for word (he remembers) that he sent her a decade ago, which started everything perfectly 10 years ago - so will it work exactly right again, and will she know it is him and remember?

She receives the message, and replies back, with the same message she sent 10 years ago, almost exactly the same. Then they go on a date after only two messages are sent, as she appends a final sentence in her first email to him back: "want to go shove a huge mexican dinner down with me right now, so we feel like we are fat and wasted?". It is 3:10pm and not dinner time, but that's when they go, and they make it dinner, any time they want, as they can do that. When they arrive at the restaurant, as he is letting her in the door and holding it open he notices something strange, but in a good way. He smells something, but it's not perfume, and it smells wonderful. He can't quite figure out what it is. He puts his head closer to her as she walks through the door but doesn't want to go to close to seem nosy, per se. She notices, but tries not to make him know, so that she does not make him feel uncomfortable. Over dinner their conversation is just as in depth as their messages they sent 10 years ago, except that they are both tingling as they are even more attracted to each other than they were over the OkCupid site.

When they order desert, she orders an item with sugar coating on it, even though she avoids sugar at all costs with her petite figure. This meal is after all supposed to be where they become fat and wasted, a temporary indulgence. While she is eating it halfway though, he notices she has sugar on her lips. "You have some sugar on your lips". She responds back "Oh. I'll just leave it there so you can look at it", with a coy look in her eyes. He looks at her, grins. She takes a while to eat the rest of it, and he looks at her lips every once in a while, as he can't help it. When she is done, she stares at him, and licks her lips "Did I get it all, or maybe you could help somehow".

After dinner as they are paying and leaving, he again notices that she smells like something but he still can't figure out what it is, and is puzzled. They head toward the door after paying and she turns her head and glances at him while still walking forward, then stops, and says "put your face on me". He is behind her, puts his face on her shoulder, hesitatingly, wondering if she knows he has been trying to figure out what wonderful odor it is that she has on her. He puts his face close to her dress on her shoulder, and smells, this time, fully admitting to her what he is doing. She giggles. He says "you smell like, ... like you've been baking, or something, but I can't figure out what it is, I'm sure it is not perfume... but it was stronger when we entered the restaurant, now it's going away"... She says "put your face on me closer then." He holds her, standing behind her, smells her hair and her dress again. He doesn't find out what she was baking but it smells delicious on her clothing and hair. The owner of the restaurant, who they paid, leaves the room and goes back into the kitchen, to give them some privacy. There is no one else in the restaurant. He closes the kitchen swing door. Then he quickly and quietly opens the kitchen door to turn the light down with the dimmer control. The two look back at him he looks away and disappears. They cuddle in the restaurant for a while, then leave. Then they go for a hike, which is slippery since it is winter out, but fun. When he brings her home she says "I turn my cell phone off when I go to sleep, so don't be afraid to message me any time, you won't wake me if I am sleeping since my phone will be off"

A few days later, it is late at night 1:04 AM in the morning. He is up thinking about what winter activities to do, as hiking is slippery and dangerous. He realizes that if hiking is slippery, he might as well deal with the ice instead of avoiding it, and just solve the problem by going right on the ice... He sends her a message, knowing she could be sleeping, and does not expect a reply. "Are you up right now?" She responds back "Yes, I can't sleep, usually I am really tired at this time!" He responds back "Want to do something illegal?" She responds "Ha ha like what?" He responds back "Do you have any skates?" She says "Some old figure skates... am I understanding where you are going with this.. I think I might see what you are seeing us doing..."... He says "Yes, grab your skates, I will pick you up. I think the parks close at 11:00PM and it is pitch black, there is a huge rink, want to go skating?" She says "Yes, skates might not be perfectly sharpened though but I would like to". He says "Mine aren't likely either, I haven't skated in years, but if they aren't perfectly sharp that might help me stop better since I won't catch a sharp edge." He grabs his skates which is under a pile of boxes, and in a nearby box he finds roller blade knee pads. He brings them, as since he hasn't skated in years he is worried about falling. In his garage he grabs a spray paint can, half full of white paint... and shakes it, laughs, throws it under the passenger front seat, and starts up the car.

He picks her up, and drives to the outdoor rink. When they arrive, she gets out of the car first. When she is out of the car and not looking, he grabs the white paint can under the passenger seat she was sitting in, and hides it under his shirt. They walk together with their skate bags, to the park entry where there is grass. There is indeed a sign that says "Park Closes at 11:00PM, Violators Will Be Fined And Prosecuted". He looks at the sign with her and says "Oh". She lightly laughs and says "Hmph". He then pulls out the paint can he has been holding under his shirt, sprays over top the sign with the white paint. She starts laughing. Now the sign is covered and is fully blank. They go into the park and put their skates on outdoors on a bench. First though, he puts his knee pads on, grudgingly, hoping she won't think he is a nerd. She says "Oh, that's what I should have brought". He says "These give me the confidence to skate like a maniac, fast, without fear - that, and since I haven't skated for years, I'm scared I've completely forgotten how to skate and will fall on my face." When they have their skates on after tightening them up they walk on the black skate walk pad to the rink. They carefully step on the ice, both thinking they will be very out of touch with skating and clumsy. However, after a few strides, it all comes back to both of them, and they remember how to skate. He starts skating really fast, and shortly is out of breath. The rink is huge, and is a speed skating practice rink - one fast skate down the whole rink will put almost anyone out of breath on regular skates. He turns around at the end of the rink, and she catches up to meet him. She smiles at him and his heading directly toward him, and instead of stopping, runs into him to give him a hug "I think I need to learn how to stop" she says. "You're my stopper." They kiss. Then they try figure skating together, with a lot of back skating, pulling, tugging, cross overs, one hand connected, both hands, and holding each other close. They are rusty, but, this is their first skate in years, and he is on hockey skates, so they make the best of it.

After they are finished skating they go to the car to keep out of the cool wind and warm up. She opens her skate bag up in the car and pulls out something wrapped in some wax paper. She hands it to him, and she looks at him but does not say anything. She stares at him smiling, and he opens the wax paper wondering what it is. He sees that it is food, smiles and attempts to put it in his mouth. She says "No..."..Stopping him from putting it in his mouth just yet. He looks at her; she is still staring at him. Then she grabs it from him carefully, holds it up to his nose. He opens his mouth as he thinks she is trying to feed him from her hands, she says "No... and giggles". Then he finally says "Oh you're a tease". Then he smells the bread, as he has no option left. She is still staring at him. Then he looks at her, and tries to figure out what she wants. Then he remembers, that this was the smell of her dress and even her hair when they were at the restaurant. He says "oh, yes, banana bread... that must be what you were baking before our first date." She says "I was baking it all day, that's why it was all over me, but I didn't realize it until I got home and my house reeked". Then she feeds him banana bread from her hand "take a bite".

Weeks later he has her over at her place, and forces her to make banana bread in his house. She wonders what it is all about, as he has a pencil and paper, and he is questioning her and interrogating her about what is in the banana bread, and asks in depth questions. He looks like some kind of mad scientist or psychologist with his glasses down far on his nose. She says "why are you interrogating me about this banana bread, and smiles". He says "I was good at chemistry, but never went and got a job in that field" She is puzzled "Hmmm.." She puts a couple of the uncooked loafs in the oven, then holds him close. "The chemistry of banana bread, what are you up to, what are you up to." She smells his chest, and holds him more. Then she thinks for a while holding him with her head against his chest. After a while she says "Then we should call it banana bread perfume, simple isn't it." He is grateful she has figured it out.

Days later, they work on the chemical formula experimenting with spices, cooking nutmeg and extracting liquid from it, comparing banana flavor with real bananas, blending all kinds of combinations even trying to experiment with corn banana bread variations. They write down what works best. They research the patent system and find out the ins and outs of the perfume business. They come up with a perfume, all natural in their own kitchen that is actually usable as is, but want to perfect and strengthen it further - so they contact a perfume company with their idea, with a sample of their own they made, included in their correspondence. The perfume company is startled that someone was actually able to put together a sample on their own and they immediately recognize the potential, after reading their letter and whiffing the natural sample sent to them in a bottle. The couple sells a natural version of it to start off, on their own, while they are working on more professional version by the perfume company in progress. It becomes a great success and they are financially well off soon after.
