~ hyenas that steal get tortured
Short story in progress...

Hyenas are known to steal from other animals, right after the other animal has spent all his hard work and effort obtaining food (meat). The hyena threatens or intimidates the animal that just spent its effort obtaining food, to leave the scene so the hyena can take the food for the taking. The hyena does little to no work to steal the food other than showing up at the scene, sighting the meat, and ganging up on the animal which just put sweat labor into finding and tracking down supper.

Occasionally, however, and definitely more often in the near future, these hyenas will be caught for their acts, and tortured, by a zeta alpha combination lion, or alike. When a lion or other animal has had enough of this bratty, childish, obnoxious hyena alpha wanna be behavior, justice will be served, and well served. Hyenas act like alphas, going in on the scene and threatening, stealing, and ganging up on an individual or small group of lions or other animals - but they are not alpha, they are cheaters and thieves.

Hidden Supporters

There was a lone lion, tracking down it's dinner and it took a long time as he was having difficulty. Panting and panting, and extremely hungry, he is almost ready to give up. Finally after literally hours of tracking down his prey, he makes his kill. He can barely put his mouth in the meat to eat it since he is so tired, in the open field, extremely close to a nearby a forest. Panting, and panting, almost ready to die from overheating (as lions do not sweat), he waits instead of eating his food right then.. and watches it closely, looking out on the landscape. As he is panting and nearly dead from overheating, he spots a pack of 19 hyenas heading toward him from a distance. He tries to quickly eat some meat before they arrive at the scene, as he knows he'll have no chance to save his food for his own needs, when the gang of stalking thieves enter the scene. However, he cannot even eat a single bite, as he is panting and almost ready to collapse. He needs rest before he eats, and desperately needs to cool down in case of heat death.

The hyenas arrive, and gang threaten the alpha lion. The lion grudges and gives up, walks away, starving, turning his back. As he turns and walks away in complete humiliation, still panting to near death, the loud roar comes from the forest, more than one. Eleven large, massive lions hidden in the trees who sound like serial demented killing psychopaths roll their heads as they run toward the scene. The hyenas stop in mid foot, unable to even comprehend. They look at each other and start running after pausing. The eleven large lions have muscles popping out of their legs and mid sections as they are in speed flight. They immediately and quickly pierce and bleed out three hyenas, not to death but crippling them, so they can move on to the others. Another of the hyenas is killed. Then a couple of the large lions visit the overheated lion that originally was alone, while the other lions continue crippling more hyenas. They visit him to monitor his panting and walk him over to his meat, and encourage him to eat it. He cannot walk over to eat it and is exhausted. Eventually he makes it over to the meat, neatly collapsing. The large lions are well fed and do not need any meat, but the starving near overheated lion needs food and a cool down real fast.

A couple large lions drag the meat into the trees where there is shade, and the lone overheated alpha, follows panting and unable to move very fast. Finally when the overheated lone alpha arrives in the shade, where it is much cooler, his panting reduces. He carefully and hesitatingly starts to eat the meat, out of fear of vomiting from the heat and exhaustion. However he realizes there is no need to rush, no need to worry, and he can just relax and wait. The eleven hidden supporters have it covered. His meat will now not be taken by thieves any time soon, if ever. He continues to breath and cool down until he can eat.

The 19 hyenas have all been crippled and have serious wounds. Some are dead, most are suffering and are in severe pain. The rest of the lions, finished with the hyenas, roar and swing their heads, marching back to the shade in the trees where the meat is. They have an insane look in their eyes, deadly. They have left 19 hyenas to die a horrible slow death. Some hyenas are barely able to walk and seriously bleeding. Others are lying on the ground, alive, making noise, ready to see their death. The eleven lions, all uninjured, arrive in the shade pacing and walking around the meat, not eating it, as they have no need. They see to the lone alpha's satisfaction, that he is well fed, and in safe health. The lone alpha lays down while eating, to relax, and is feeling a bit better now. The eleven large lions circle him with an insane glare in their eyes, giving the odd roar of satisfaction as the lone alpha finds a good section of meat; they notice. They lone alpha offers them some of the meat, but they need none. Finally the lone alpha has enough energy to get up, eat a piece of meat, and swing his head and roar. When he is done eating, they walk off, fearless, insane, and delighted.

This story, is not about hyenas, if you are able to make a reference.
