~ at the candy store
At the candy store is an expression used when one feels overwhelmed with too many choices, and sometimes the best move is to simply walk out of the candy store and ignore all of it, as much of it could even be unhealthy with no nutrition. The risk of course is that there is some really good candy, that you will love, so sometimes you have to stop and look to try to find some gold.

Examples of being in the candy store:

Log in to github. Github has way too much source code, and there is no time to look at it all. Search features help, but, it's still the candy store.

Selecting a programming language. There are way too many programming languages to learn, and not enough time to use even a few of them or become master of many.

The internet. It is full of information, way too much. Call this information overload. There may be millions of pages but no time to read them all.

Walk in to a library. Many of the books are interesting, and you will (guaranteed) not have enough time to read all of them that interest you. Google books search feature helps, and card indexing (in the old days) helps, and computer library index databases help, but, it's still the candy store.
