~ alpha nerd movie
Nerd keeps getting bullied in school, and is skinny. He punches a boxing bag in his basement but remains skinny and does not put on much muscle as he hits it for hours non stop after school. He develops a unique karate punch for boxing instead of a wide hook punch. He keeps getting bullied at school but refuses to fight. The kids think he is a weakling, and it shows: he is skinny.

After years of being bullied he finally breaks down and nearly kills a kid in a fist fight who is 2 grades above him who pulls his underwear up in the change room after gym when the 9th graders come in for next class and meet shortly if any 7th graders are left changing from previous class. He gets bullied again because everyone keeps that fight quiet "nobody hears about this" as the ninth graders did not want anyone to know a 7th grader kicked the shit out of a ninth grader in the change room.

After years of remaining a pacifist he becomes a guy who is driven to want to kill boys who bully him, and he nearly kills one guy in the change room. The next fight, since no one knows he almost killed the ninth grader due to secrecy, is similar in violence but he doesn't make the same mistake of almost killing the bully as he doesn't want to get charged for murder. After the second fight no one in the school will ever touch him again because the second fight was not secret. He still remains skinny and has a "death punch", in which in some cases, he takes a run at it to get more momentum into the punch or takes one to two fast steps forward, whereas most boxers stay stationary.

He goes on to teach a new style of boxing, although this new style could potentially kill a boxer on the receiving end.

They develop a arcade boxing machine to test the speed of your punch and you get a certain amount of points. The key to racking up as many points as possible is to take a run at the speed bag rather than just taking a swing standing stationary. Although one does not have much room in a fist fight to take a run at the punch like in an open arcade room, the nerd has figured out a way to still squeeze in fast steps forward (and step back first) and increase the speed of his punch, also known as "Death punch". Taking the steps to increase the speed of a punch is not always used, it is used every few punches when the boxer can manage to fit in the punches and finds foot area to do so.

Boxers are surprised to find out how many points one can get on the arcade machine if they step into the punch or run at it. The arcade machine is turned into not only an arcade machine but a training machine to measure the power of a punch for boxing training. Jokingly, in the arcades, you'll see guys now taking literally 15 fast running steps to smash the shit out of the speed bag in the arcade rooms (which you could never find the space for in a real boxing ring), but it proves the point that taking a run into your punch can massively increase the power of the punch.

Indeed some martial arts experts already know this, but when people take a punch they mostly visualize the arm doing all the work and the body being used just for balance or passive behavior. It is similar to the high jump in track and field. In the high jump you can transfer all your forward speed of running into heighth speed, which is strange as you are literally converting horizontal movement to vertical movement.

The character in this movie is a math and science nerd, very quiet, isolated, hates life in general but loves math and science. When he develops the boxing method he passes it on to other instructors and decides to go back to science and math... i.e. he would love to stay teaching the boxing method but decides passing on the knowledge to other instructors is best, so he can go back to his love of science and math. He use physics to prove the death punch to be superior in power and force but to him that's just basic physics, nothing super advanced ... so he decides to move on.

He also develops a system to defend himself from kicks. In one of the fights, he is kicked but knows exactly how to defend against it. He has developed a theory of fighting, similar to theoretical physics, where he hasn't fought a human before and has only theoretically designed the death punch and tested it experimentally on his own bag, but not a real person : until the real fight. His kick defense mechanism involves quickly grabbing the foot of the kicker, and ripping the leg toward him to knock the person on the ground and crack their skull, if they so happen. This movie shows the serious consequences of bullying someone intelligent, to the point where the bullied child develops methods to kill his opponent, if the bullied child is aggravated enough. It also shows that fighting is both a theory and a practice, likely 50/50, as testing the theory is as important as the theory itself.

One of the reasons the bullies in school keep bullying him is that he laughs when he is bullied, and they cannot figure out why. Why would a kid laugh when he is getting wedgies, and why would he laugh when he is thrown down to the ground? He gets lifted up in the air literally by his shirt against walls and his head slams against the wall, and he laughs. The kids in his class ask him "why were you laughing when that guy was lifting you by your shirt and your head hit the wall several times?"... He responds "oh drywall doesn't hurt, it's hollow behind". The kid responds "Oh I see. But still, if you keep laughing don't you think they will injure you more?" ... The kid responds "probably, I'm prepared for that". The other responds "what? are you out of your mind? those guys are 2 grades above you and much stronger". The kid has no idea what goes on in the basement after school.... though... and how he pounds the living shit out of his sand bag and speed bag for sometimes 2-4 hours.

The kid being bullied visualizes the amount of abuse his speedbag and sand bag at home take when he pounds the shit out of it, and laughs at what he theoretically could do if he really wanted. But he does not fight back, he just laughs. This goes on for years. But after years of being bullied, just laughing it off does not work any more.

The day he almost kills someone at school is the day he wears a hooded shirt to school. He does not wear it to school, only after training. But that day he wore it to school. One day his friend comes over (before any fights ever occurred) and the friend comes over after he is done boxing his bag in the basement. He has his hooded shirt on. His friend says "never seen you in that shirt before", alpha nerd responds "Oh I don't wear this to school."... The day he arrives at the school with the shirt on his friend notices and says "you don't wear that shirt to school" and smiles. The alpha nerd says "yeah, I don't. This is a little bit different." The friend responds "the shirt?"... the alpha nerd responds "today is a different day". Later that day he nearly kills a kid 2 years older boxing him in the change room.
